What to know about this mule
The cork-and-latex footbed starts firm and compresses into the shape of your arch over two to three weeks. After that it holds that shape, which is why a broken-in pair fits you and nobody else. Suede is soft from the first wear because there is no surface finish to break in — and no surface finish to protect it either. A protector spray from day one is not optional.
The buckle is what makes this workable on a high instep. Anything with a fixed vamp will press across the top of the foot and will not stretch enough to fix it.
Most of these are built on EU lasts and converted inconsistently to US sizing. Where you can, work from the EU number.
Leather needs roughly a day to release the moisture it absorbed from your foot. Two pairs alternated each last more than twice as long as one worn daily.
