What to know about this sandal
Suede is soft from the first wear because there is no surface finish to break in — and no surface finish to protect it either. A protector spray from day one is not optional.
The footbed is moulded rather than mouldable — support comes from a fixed shape, so there is no break-in period and no personalisation either.
The adjustable strap takes up slack across the instep, which is the difference between a clog that stays put and one you grip with your toes. Specified for ward work: the combination of a supportive footbed and a closed upper is what most unit dress codes are asking for.
Leave about a centimetre in front of your longest toe, and check that your foot is not spilling over the sides of the footbed — that is a width problem, not a length one.
Keep them away from radiators and direct sun. Heat is what cracks leather uppers and delaminates soles, not water.
