What to know about this clog
Leather uppers breathe and mould, which matters more over a long day than any amount of padding does.
The footbed is moulded rather than mouldable — support comes from a fixed shape, so there is no break-in period and no personalisation either. EVA keeps the weight down, which matters more than it sounds when you are lifting the shoe ten thousand times a day. It compresses over a couple of years.
A cold-weather clog. Lined uppers run warmer than they look, and are better indoors and on short outdoor trips than on long walks.
Most of these are built on EU lasts and converted inconsistently to US sizing. Where you can, work from the EU number.
Condition every six to eight weeks for daily-wear shoes. More often than that and you soften the leather past the point where it holds shape.
