What to know about this moccasin
Birkenstock's footbed carries a deep heel cup, a raised toe bar and a pronounced arch. All three feel like too much in week one and like the point by week four. Leather uppers breathe and mould, which matters more over a long day than any amount of padding does.
The buckle is what makes this workable on a high instep. Anything with a fixed vamp will press across the top of the foot and will not stretch enough to fix it.
Black is the colour most workplace dress codes specify, and the one that hides toe-box scuffs best. It greys as the finish dries — conditioner brings it back. Fit at the end of the day. Feet swell measurably over a shift, and a clog that fits at nine in the morning can be tight by seven.
Keep them away from radiators and direct sun. Heat is what cracks leather uppers and delaminates soles, not water.
