What to know about this clog
The cork-and-latex footbed starts firm and compresses into the shape of your arch over two to three weeks. After that it holds that shape, which is why a broken-in pair fits you and nobody else. Full-grain keeps the outer surface of the hide intact, scars and all. It stretches to your foot and then stops, rather than creasing in a fixed line.
The adjustable strap takes up slack across the instep, which is the difference between a clog that stays put and one you grip with your toes.
Brown leather is allowed to age in a way black is not. Oiled browns lift into red-brown as the oils redistribute. Leave about a centimetre in front of your longest toe, and check that your foot is not spilling over the sides of the footbed — that is a width problem, not a length one.
Leather needs roughly a day to release the moisture it absorbed from your foot. Two pairs alternated each last more than twice as long as one worn daily.
