What to know about this clog
Both the footbed and the sole are replaceable, through a cobbler or Birkenstock's own repair service. That is the real argument for the price. Suede is soft from the first wear because there is no surface finish to break in — and no surface finish to protect it either. A protector spray from day one is not optional.
A cold-weather clog. Lined uppers run warmer than they look, and are better indoors and on short outdoor trips than on long walks.
Fit at the end of the day. Feet swell measurably over a shift, and a clog that fits at nine in the morning can be tight by seven.
Leather needs roughly a day to release the moisture it absorbed from your foot. Two pairs alternated each last more than twice as long as one worn daily.
