What to know about this clog
A wooden base distributes weight unusually evenly, which is why people who stand in one place tend to prefer wood over rubber. Suede is soft from the first wear because there is no surface finish to break in — and no surface finish to protect it either. A protector spray from day one is not optional.
The buckle is what makes this workable on a high instep. Anything with a fixed vamp will press across the top of the foot and will not stretch enough to fix it.
If a specific spot hurts on day one, that is a fit problem and will not break in. General stiffness will.
Leather needs roughly a day to release the moisture it absorbed from your foot. Two pairs alternated each last more than twice as long as one worn daily.
