What to know about this clog
Mephisto hand-assembles its uppers and uses a shock-absorbing heel insert, which is a quieter, softer take on the same problem Dansko solves with rigidity. Leather uppers breathe and mould, which matters more over a long day than any amount of padding does.
The cork footbed is the part doing the work. Firm at first, then moulded to your arch after two or three weeks of regular wear.
The buckle is what makes this workable on a high instep. Anything with a fixed vamp will press across the top of the foot and will not stretch enough to fix it. Slips on and off at security and packs flatter than a boot, which is most of why people travel in clogs.

Leather needs roughly a day to release the moisture it absorbed from your foot. Two pairs alternated each last more than twice as long as one worn daily.
