What to know about this clog
Dansko footbeds do not mould the way cork does. What you feel on day one is broadly what you get, which is an advantage if you need support immediately. Leather uppers breathe and mould, which matters more over a long day than any amount of padding does.
The buckle is what makes this workable on a high instep. Anything with a fixed vamp will press across the top of the foot and will not stretch enough to fix it. For twelve-hour shifts the footbed matters more than the cushioning. Cushioning compresses; a supportive shape does not.
Leave about a centimetre in front of your longest toe, and check that your foot is not spilling over the sides of the footbed — that is a width problem, not a length one.
Condition every six to eight weeks for daily-wear shoes. More often than that and you soften the leather past the point where it holds shape.
