What to know about this mule
Dansko builds almost everything on a rigid rocker sole, so the shoe rolls you forward instead of bending at the ball of the foot. That is the whole reason the brand took over American hospitals. Napped leather like this dusts rather than scuffs. A suede brush along the nap restores it; water does not.
Memory foam feels best on day one and slowly worse after that, because the foam takes a permanent set. Excellent for occasional wear, less so for daily shifts. A rubber outsole grips wet floors in a way a smooth leather or wooden base does not, which is why it turns up on almost everything sold for kitchen and hospital work.
Most of these are built on EU lasts and converted inconsistently to US sizing. Where you can, work from the EU number.
Keep them away from radiators and direct sun. Heat is what cracks leather uppers and delaminates soles, not water.
