What to know about this clog

CUSHIONAIRE builds a cork-style footbed at a lower price than the European makers, with the trade being less consistent sizing across models. Suede is soft from the first wear because there is no surface finish to break in — and no surface finish to protect it either. A protector spray from day one is not optional.

The cork footbed is the part doing the work. Firm at first, then moulded to your arch after two or three weeks of regular wear.

Backless clogs suit people who take shoes on and off constantly. They suit stairs less. Treated for outdoor use, which in a leather clog means water resistance rather than waterproofing. Dry it away from heat.

Black is the colour most workplace dress codes specify, and the one that hides toe-box scuffs best. It greys as the finish dries — conditioner brings it back.
