What to know about this mule
Leather stretches across the width over the first few weeks and barely at all in length. Buy for length, let width settle.
The cork footbed is the part doing the work. Firm at first, then moulded to your arch after two or three weeks of regular wear.
The buckle is what makes this workable on a high instep. Anything with a fixed vamp will press across the top of the foot and will not stretch enough to fix it.
White reads clinical and shows everything. It is the colour of choice where a light upper is part of the dress code, and a commitment everywhere else. Leave about a centimetre in front of your longest toe, and check that your foot is not spilling over the sides of the footbed — that is a width problem, not a length one.
Leather needs roughly a day to release the moisture it absorbed from your foot. Two pairs alternated each last more than twice as long as one worn daily.
